This is so very much God’s very own place, isn’t it? I don’t think you’ve missed much, except that the paddy fields that I used to love so much are rather rare these days, even in my village!
Beautiful photographs!
There were vast stretches of paddy fields where we (as kids) and the birds used to revel during the harvest season. The boys would be busy flying kites. Sadly these days like in any other part of Kerala the paddy fields are shrinking, as the other profitable crops have encroached upon them. Rubber trees are not so charming. Thank you, Usha!
Nobody can deny the beauty and soothing effect of nature and especially when it is greenery from our own ‘gods own land’ the joy and nostalgia is boundless…beautiful pics,

that fruit looking like breadfruit … not breadfruit, jack-fruit right?
Yeah, jack fruit, my favourite (bread fruit is much smaller). There nobody wants that fruit while here we have to spend a fortune (!) for even a small portion of it.
Jackfruit is my favorite too! 🙂
I saw the nutmeg photo and was happy I could identify it. I had seen nutmeg for the first time in Grenada a couple of years ago, but it was only the inner part (with the red on the shell). Very interesting!
Nutmeg grows abundantly there. Every part of that fruit is useful. It has medicinal values too. Isn’t it such a beautiful combination of contrast colours? Nature is such a wonderful artist.

What a neat place. I don’t see images of vegetation like that everyday. You have a lot of visitors, I was number 18,746. That is how many you got to visit your village. I wonder what your neighbors think? That is impressive.

Natural green is so soothing to our eyes and mind – each moment of my life here I realize what I miss. Yeah, jaathikka.
The house I stayed before this did not have a tree outside my bedroom window. I used to crib about the bleak view and the L & M asked me, “Don’t tell me I have to look for a tree for you when I look for a house!?” I said,”Of course you should!” :))
Now I have a view of trees, totally green. This is the only room that has it and my table is right next to the window 😀
You are lucky. Trees are such wonderful creations. One will never get bored looking at a tree. And it will keep on refreshing and inspiring us. Here there is not even a blade of grass for me look at. 🙂

What a wonderful place to have as home. It is so lush and green and beautiful.
But I miss it every moment. After each vacation I take along the green memories to rejuvenate myself for the next two years.

Wow! Looks very tropical! 🙂 If you don’t mind me asking, where are you in the world? Looks so different to where I live. I live in a very old city in England, with a big white castle in the city centre! We have trees that blossom in summer and produce fruit, but not that spectacular – no shortage of apples anyway!!

Thank you, Suzy. Your description reminds me of a fairy tale. Yes, things are so different here. The place is Kerala(God’s own country, as they call it), on the southern tip of India. It’s all green, probably one of the greenest parts of the country. We have no extreme climates though the monsoon with the non-stop rain gives trouble.
